Rogers sponsors Every Brilliant Thing at Milwaukee Repertory Theater
03/21/19 09:27:amSue McKenzie, VP of culture and InHealth, will be featured on a panel following the April 17 performance of the play “Every Brilliant Thing” at the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre to discuss mental health and the themes of the play with the audience.
“Every Brilliant Thing” is about a young boy who tries to comfort his mother and help her depression with a list of things that are worth living for, and the impact the list has on his own life as he grows up over three decades. Following each performance of the play, The Rep will host its Act II community engagement program, with each night featuring a different community leader to discuss the content and themes of the play. The audience then participates in discussion circles led by the Zeidler Center for Public Discussion.
“It is rare that a play can capture, with both humor and sensitivity, the reality of families impacted by depression and suicide,” Sue says. “Having read the script, I am very excited to see the play, and to have the opportunity to represent Rogers and the voice of lived experience in our community.”
The play is presented by The Charles E. Kubly Foundation and sponsored by Rogers. More information can be found on The Rep’s page for “Every Brilliant Thing.”
