A Rogers team in the Oconomowoc Softball Association summer league recently won against a team that had formerly beaten them by more than 30 runs.

The team was started in 2016 by Rebecca Fink-Leach, residential care specialist, Eating Disorder Recovery residential care, who had played college softball. Missing the sport, she inquired to see if Rogers would sponsor a team. Rebecca still serves as the team organizer and captain, with Steven Miller and Michael Witte helping and playing for the team.

“We don’t win many games, but we have so much fun and camaraderie,” she says. “Most of our players are Rogers employees, specifically from the Eating Disorder residential care team.”

The team consists of Mike Witte, Steve Miller, Owen Bowie, Todd Eisenberg, Brittni Marshall, Caitlan Pinciotti, Mackenzie Woerishofer, Brittany Vollmer, Haley Lemire, Jasmine Aguirre, Sarah Hoffman, Mia Nunez, and Rebecca Fink-Leach. Some family members also pitch in.

Contact Rebecca if you’re interested in joining in on the fun next year or would like to learn more. The season typically begins at the start of May and runs through mid-August.

The team plans to wrap up their season with a fun night out to celebrate.
