Both Rogers and Children’s are leading providers in their fields. The two systems have goals to:

  • Create a seamless system of care between our health systems focused
on care continuity, addressing gaps, and enhancing current offerings
  • Develop innovative models of care that improve access, outcomes,
patient family experience, and total cost of care from prevention,
early diagnosis and intervention to patients with significant medical
    and co-occurring psychiatric disorders
  • Sponsor workforce development for nurses, child and adolescent
psychologists, therapists, advanced practice providers, and
    psychiatrists

Currently, a pilot is being tested in Children’s Emergency Department for determining whether a patient needs intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, or inpatient care.

As additional solutions are explored, projects are expected to continually evolve at various levels of discussion. Rogers is working collaboratively with Children’s to develop to the model of care by utilizing the Rogers Improvement System model and a dedicated Value Stream.

“We are excited to be working with our colleagues at Children’s on these initiatives,” said Paul Mueller, CEO, hospital division, and Angie Crawford, chief nursing officer, West Allis chief operating officer, in a joint statement. “Together, we have the opportunity to improve the lives of children and families affected by behavioral health issues.”
