Ninth annual Jump for Archie sheds light on opioid crisis, shares hope for recovery
06/14/23 01:30:pmMembers of Rogers’ Outreach team were on hand to share resources at the ninth annual Jump for Archie on May 13 in Oconomowoc.
Sponsored by Rogers, community members gathered to draw attention to the opioid crisis and share hope for recovery. The event consisted of a series of public group jumps into Lac La Belle, a resources table, and a vigil.
Hosted by Saving Others for Archie (SOFA) Inc., Jump for Archie honors the memory of Archie Andrew Badura, who lost his life to an overdose on May 15, 2014 at the age of 19. The mission of SOFA is to serve grassroots efforts in the furtherance of substance use prevention through raising awareness of the relationship between addiction and mental health issues.
Rogers is sponsoring the June 17 SOFA 988-5K suicide prevention walk/run that highlights mental health and addiction resources, honors those who have lost their battle, those who provide services, and the families who have lost loved ones.
