A mother shares how dedication, compassion helped her daughter

Eating disorders can take a tremendous toll on self-confidence, relationships, and ability to live life. Thanks in part to the dedication and compassion of one particular therapist, a mother of a former patient shared how her daughter thrived.

“My daughter was in the eating disorder program for five months. She just stepped down to intensive outpatient care as she transitions back to school. Her care has been excellent throughout. Compassionate but also pushing her to achieve more and more over time. But Lisa Moses in the partial hospitalization program went above and beyond to help my daughter. She delivered care with compassion and commitment. She pushed when my daughter wanted to avoid. Under her care, I saw my daughter grow in confidence and in self-acceptance. I will be forever grateful for all Rogers did for my daughter, but the little firecracker of a therapist (as we called her at home), she will always have a place in my heart. It is apparent that Lisa is doing more than collecting a paycheck. She has a passion for helping her patients. I feel blessed to have had her be a part of my daughter’s treatment!”

Lisa, a therapist at Silver Lake, says, “It meant so much to me to get this feedback. It is these success stories that make every day worth it. I love what I do, and I consider it an honor to be a part of someone’s journey to recovery. Plus, I’ve never been called a firecracker before, so that was pretty cool.”
