Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Academy set to launch in October
09/14/23 01:00:pmThe new Mental Health and Addiction Recovery (MHAR) Academy will be live starting October 2. The academy has been accredited by the State of Wisconsin to allow participants to earn the SAC-IT/SAC/CSAC certification, National Association of Addiction Counselors, ACE and NBCC.
Team members who are eligible will be able to complete the courses they need to earn their substance use credential through a joint effort with Carroll University. Designed at both basic and advanced levels, the courses will also be available on Rogers University and are eligible for CE credits. The courses offered through the substance use credential are blended, meaning they consist of computer-based learning and facilitator-led sessions, which will be conducted virtually and/or in-person. On average, one-third of instruction will be live and two-thirds online, with content learning taking place online while practice and application occur during face-to-face meetings.
“While the average cost for this opportunity can be thousands of dollars, we’re pleased to offer the chance for Rogers’ teammates to continue their education at no cost to employees,” says Michelle Maloney, PhD, LPC, CAADC, CRPS, System executive clinical director of Mental Health and Addiction Recovery. “As we continue to build it out, team members can renew their license for ten years without repeating a course.”
A list of the current course offerings can be found on the Mental Health and Addiction Recovery department on Rogers Connect.
