Brownbag series Daymaker drawing winners discuss importance of outcomes
05/20/19 03:32:pmThe Rogers Brownbag series of talks has been a hit among team members, whether they work directly with patients or provide support behind the scenes.
A Daymaker drawing is held each month for the attendees of each talk, and we reached out to three past winners to hear how the Brownbag series has benefited their work at Rogers.
“I love attending the Brownbag data talks,” says Holly Rahn Heim, Rogers Improvement System deployment leader. “Professionally I enjoy them to learn more about our system and the data being used to measure our success. With my current role in the Rogers Improvement System, it is important for me to keep up to date with how data and our services are actively making change for the better in our Rogers system.”
Holly further discussed how important it as to learn about clinical areas that she didn’t know of before as well as others.
That’s a sentiment echoed by Lori Nichols, professional counselor in training with Addiction Recovery Adult Residential care in Oconomowoc. “I have been participating in the Brown Bag Talks to gain more insight and knowledge into the different programs that Rogers offers,” says Lori. “Having knowledge of the other programs can assist me when making sure the treatment we are providing is what is meeting the patients’ needs.”
The talks have also been beneficial to the Rogers outreach team, according to Amanda Settle, outreach representative in Appleton.
“Attending the brownbag talks is important for me to be able to properly understand how we are using data and outcomes to further the work we do. Additionally, I have been able to develop talking points from these talks for my appointments with referring providers. Often it is the discussion on how we are using data to drive treatment decisions that becomes the reason for providers noting that they want to refer to Rogers.”
The Brownbag series talks are held in the Lake Michigan Room in the Oconomowoc Corporate Center the first Friday of each month at 12:10 pm. Each talk is also broadcast live to a virtual room. Video recordings of previous talks and a schedule for future events can be found on the Data Watch page on Rogers Connect.
