Bieke D. Puncochar, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical co-director at Rogers Behavioral Health in Nashville. In her role as clinical co-director, Dr. Puncochar provides supervision to a team of clinicians, works closely with family therapists and experiential therapists, and collaborates with psychiatrists to optimize patient care at Rogers. She is also involved in clinic operations and marketing efforts.
Dr. Puncochar graduated magna cum laude with a Master in Psychology from the University of Leuven in Belgium and later obtained her Master of Science in Psychology and Human Development from Vanderbilt University. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Science from Vanderbilt’s Psychology department. Dr. Puncochar completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine, and performed her post-doctoral fellowship under supervision of F. Joseph McLaughlin, PhD. She received extensive training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions, with a specific focus on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at various psychology conferences, including the Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (ABCT) and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP).
Prior to becoming part of our team at Rogers, she provided therapy and assessment services to children and their families in independent private practice. In her practice, Dr. Puncochar treated children with a variety of psychological difficulties (e.g., sleep problems, oppositional behavior, anxiety, social difficulties, ADHD, stress, and adjustment issues) using CBT-based interventions. She also completed psychoeducational assessments at The Diagnostic Center at Currey Ingram Academy and worked as a Lecturer at Vanderbilt University’s undergraduate psychology program. She continues to serve as a guest lecturer for Vanderbilt University’s Clinical Psychology graduate program. Dr. Puncochar has extensive experience in psychological assessment and a specific expertise in behavioral treatment of pediatric sleep problems.
