Elizabeth Hamlin, MD, will be one of the presenters at the next iaedp Foundation Heartland Chapter meeting, which is being held at the Rock Bottom Restaurant in Milwaukee on Friday, May 4, from 10 am to 2 pm. Dr. Hamlin’s talk “One Size Doesn’t Fit All: How Psychoanalytic Ideas Can Help to Individualize Treatment” will cover the importance of obtaining a detailed developmental history in patients, the use of psychoanalytic concepts to link patterns of development to eating disorder symptoms, and how to recognize potential psychodynamic significance of psychiatric medication. The chapter meetings bring together healthcare providers to increase their awareness of eating disorders and enhance their skills in treating these life-threatening illnesses. The cost to attend the chapter meeting is $30 (members), $50 (non-members) and $15 (students). Three CE credits are available at no additional charge. Registration is required by April 30; to register go to www.heartlandiaedp.com. Questions can be directed to email@example.com.
