Peggy Scallon, MD, Medical Director of Rogers New Adolescent Residential Program

(Oconomowoc, Wis.) Peggy Scallon, MD, has been appointed medical director of the FOCUS adolescent mood disorders program at Rogers Memorial Hospital–Oconomowoc. Her primary role is to provide medical oversight of services offered and ensure that quality, effective care is continued at Rogers’ eighth residential program.

“I’m thrilled to join the Rogers team because of Rogers’ outstanding reputation for providing excellent patient care,” says Dr. Scallon. “The Rogers professionals are innovative medical leaders, who are known as teachers and advocates in the field—I couldn’t be more proud to contribute to the Rogers mission.”

Dr. Scallon has over 20 years of psychiatric experience, primarily in child and adolescent treatment. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She completed her residency in general psychiatry from University of Colorado Hospital and a residency in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. She was the director or residency training in child and adolescent psychiatry while at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Besides donating her services to local committees dedicated to improving mental health resources for children, teens and adults, Dr. Scallon also maintains various professional memberships. She is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and is also involved with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), the Wisconsin Medical Society (WMS), the American Medical Association (AMA) and more.

Dr. Scallon has also received awards and acknowledgements for her dedication to mental health advocacy, including a “Top Doc” award from Madison Magazine. Knowing the importance of raising awareness and collaborating with others in the field, she has lectured in multiple local, national and international locations for professional and public audiences.

“Dr. Scallon is well known in our state and region for the excellent patient-centered care that she has been giving in Madison for many years,” says Jerry Halverson, MD, medical director for Rogers Memorial Hospital–Oconomowoc. “We are excited to have a psychiatrist of her experience and caliber lead our newest residential program that will address the dire need that we’ve seen for evidence-based treatment for adolescents with mood disorders and co-morbid anxiety and substance use disorders.”
